A toddler girl fell into a 45-50 feet deep borewell in Surgapara village of Gujarat's Amreli. The rescue operation is underway. The one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of a rural farm labourer, Bhanubhai Bhikhabhai, fell into the open borewell pit in a cucumber garden, ABP Asmita reported on Friday.


As per the report, the Amreli fire brigade and a 108 emergency team quickly reached the site. It was estimated that the girl was trapped at a depth of 45 to 50 feet. The 108 team started supplying oxygen into the borewell, and the fire department began the rescue operation using cameras.  







A fire officer said that the rescue team was trying to get the girl out of the borewell, stating that the hands and legs of the child were struck downwards and only her face could be seen. "We got this information around 12:30 PM... We are providing oxygen to the girl. Her hands and legs are stuck downwards and only her face can be seen. We are trying to get her out," Fire Officer HC Gadhvi told ANI. 










Similar incidents have occurred in the state before. A few months ago, a two-year-old girl fell into a borewell while playing in Ran village of Kalyanpur taluk, Dwarka. The fire department and a team of doctors responded promptly but despite hours of effort, the girl was declared dead at the hospital after being rescued. 


In another incident, a girl fell into a borewell near a construction site in Vadodara contentment. The daughter of a labourer, she fell into a 10 feet deep borewell while playing. The fire brigade managed to rescue her after an hour, but she too was declared dead at the hospital following the incident.
