New Delhi: During a man's life sentence for illegally transporting cattle, a court in Gujarat's Tapi District said that "all problems of the earth will be solved and the well-being of the earth will be established the day no drop of blood of cow drops on the earth", reported Bar and Bench.

In addition, the Principal District Judge of Tapi district court Samir Vinodchandra Vyas asserted that "houses made of cow dung are not affected by atomic radiation" and that the application of gaumutra, also known as cow urine, is a "cure for many incurable diseases."

"Science has proved that houses made of cow dung are not affected by atomic radiation. The use of gaumutra [cow urine] is a cure for many incurable diseases," the judge claimed, adding religion is born out of a cow.

The judge's assertions are unsupported by any scientific evidence.

According to Bar and Bench, the November order also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of implementation of all cow protection talks.

"Cow is not only an animal but a mother.  A cow is the living planet of 68 crore holy places and 33 crore gods. The obligation of a cow on the entire universe defies description.

In addition, the court cited a number of shlokas and stated, "if cows are kept unhappy then our wealth and property disappear."

Additionally, the judge connected climate change to cow slaughter.  "The problems that exist today are because of the increase of the irascibility and hot temper. The only reason for the increase is the slaughter of cows. Till this is completely prohibited the saatvik climate change cannot have its effect," the court said.

The man was arrested in August of last year for the illegal transportation of more than 16 cows in the case. The man was given a five lakh rupee fine in addition to a life sentence.
