A fire broke out in an empty luggage-cum-guar van coach stationed in the Nanded maintenance yard on Tuesday morning, said the Chief Public Relations Officer of South Central railways, reported ANI. The fire was completely brought under control within 30 minutes of the incident and there was damage to any other coaches, the CPRO said.
On Monday, a fire in a temple in Thane gutted electrical equipment, though no one was hurt in the incident, a civic official said, as per a PTI report.
The fire broke out in Siddhivinayak Temple in Kashish Park area of the city at 4:25pm and was doused in half an hour, Thane Municipal Corporation disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said.
"A switchboard and electric cables were destroyed in the fire. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is being probed," he added.
Same day in Mumbai, 25-30 two-wheelers at Phoenix Mall were gutted at Phoenix Mall in Lower Parel in the afternoon, while no one was injured in the incident, said a civic official.
The blaze broke out on the premises at 1:15pm and was doused some time later at 1:40pm, the fire brigade official said, according to PTI.
"The blaze was doused by those around using a hydrant line of the mall itself before fire brigade personnel arrived with one fire tending vehicle. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained," he said.
In Himachal, three houses were gutted in a fire that broke out in the Chakmoh village of Hamirpur district, the officials said on Monday.
However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
