Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has yet again called for resuming dialogue with neighbouring Pakistan to find the solution to the conflicts between the two countries, stressing that if this does not happen, people in India "will meet the same fate Gaza and Palestine". The National Conference chief referred to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statement that one can change friends but not neighbours.

"If we remain friendly with our neighbours, both will progress. PM Modi also said that war is not an option now and the matters should be resolved through dialogue. Where is the dialogue?," the NC MP said.

He said that Nawaz Sharif is about to become the PM (of Pakistan) and "they are saying that we are ready to talk (with India), but what is the reason why we are not ready to talk? If we do not find a solution through dialogue, we will meet the same fate as Gaza and Palestine, which are being bombed by Israel..." he said.

'Let J&K Go To Hell': Farooq Abdullah On SC's Verdict On Article 370

Farooq Abdullah earlier this month expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court's order upholding the abrogation of Article 370. He accused the government of betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Let Jammu and Kashmir go to hell...They betrayed people. They want to win people's hearts. How'd you win that if you'd do such things to push people farther away?" he told ANI, reacting to the verdict.

The National Conference leader further stated that former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru was not responsible for Article 370, reported PTI.
