Maharashtra News: An explosion occurred outside barracks 6 and 7 of Amravati Central Jail on Saturday. The bomb squad was present on the spot to investigate the matter. The explosion occurred at around 8:30 PM. However, no casualties have been reported following the incident.






After receiving the information, senior police officials, along with Amravati CP-DCP, reached the spot along with the bomb disposal squad, and an investigation into the matter was underway.


According to ABP News sources, the blast took place outside barracks numbers six and seven using a homemade bomb. The forensic team was also immediately rushed to the site. The people and the reason behind the incident are yet to be ascertained.


According to Amaravati Police Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, a plastic ball-shaped bomb was found. He also said that two firecrackers in plastic balls were thrown inside the jail, and a firecracker burst late at night.


The police are investigating the matter to ascertain the reason behind throwing a bomb-like object inside the Amravati Central Jail. The police said that the forensic team is also investigating the matter to find out what materials were used for making the explosives.
