Tihar jail authorities have dismissed claims made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding the deteriorating health of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asserting that he has only lost 2 kg during his imprisonment and is being closely monitored by a medical board from AIIMS.
According to the report, Kejriwal's weight was 65 kg when he first arrived in prison on April 1. It fluctuated slightly, reaching 66 kg between April 8 and 29, and then dropped to 63.5 kg when he returned to prison on June 2 after a 21-day bail. As of July 14, his weight was recorded at 61.5 kg. The report concludes that Kejriwal has lost a total of 2 kg, PTI reported.

The report also mentioned that Kejriwal is consuming home-cooked food in jail, though he often sends back portions of his meals. His health is being regularly monitored by a medical board from AIIMS, and his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, remains in regular contact with the board.
"The blood pressure and sugar levels and weight of the accused are regularly monitored, and he is provided adequate treatment for all his ailments. He is regularly having home-cooked food thrice a day," the Tihar administration stated, adding that the AAP's narrative is intended to "browbeat" the prison authorities with false information.

AAP's Claim On Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Health
Contrary to this, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh has alleged that Kejriwal's health is indeed deteriorating, claiming that the Chief Minister has suffered multiple hypoglycaemic episodes in jail. "Even the medical report leaked by the Tihar jail authorities to the media states that he lost weight and suffered multiple hypoglycaemia episodes in prison," Singh said.
As per PTI, he further alleged, "Something untoward might happen someday, and he (Kejriwal) could slip into a coma. Since his custody, his blood sugar has dropped below 50 mg/dL on five occasions in the night."
Singh has also called for an investigation into the leaking of Kejriwal's medical report, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is "playing with Kejriwal's life."
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22. Subsequently, he was also arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 26 in a corruption case related to the alleged scam. Although the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in the money laundering case on Friday, he remains in jail due to the CBI case.
