New Delhi: Strong tremors were felt in Chandigarh on Tuesday, with tremors also being felt in Delhi-NCR. An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 on the Richter scale also occurred 30km southeast of Kishtwar in Jammu And Kashmir, EMSC informed, as reported by the news agency ANI. The epicentre of the earthquake is in Jammu And Kashmir's Doda. The quake was felt post 1:30 pm.


Several netizens have shared visuals from the affected state on social media. 


A user named Sara Gurpal shared a video on Twitter, in which a wall clock was seen oscillating to and fro due to the tremors.






Another user named Hardeep Singh Sohi also shared a visual from his house in which a chandelier was seen moving on its own.






Anurag Saxena tweeted a video that initially showed a ceiling fan moving without any electricity. The clip also showed the people standing outside their houses during the earthquake.






Dhananjay Mandal shared a few visuals from different locations. The first visual is from inside a house, showing a moving chandelier. The fourth visual showcases a nearby school and the students who got out of the buildings to be safe amid the tremors.






Some even shared their funny takes on the earthquake. One used a Mirzapur reference and tweeted:






Director, National Center for Seismology, Dr OP Mishra said that tremors might have been felt in HP, Chandigarh, Punjab and all adjoining areas. "An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude was recorded in J&K's Doda today. Tremors might have been felt in HP, Chandigarh, Punjab and all adjoining areas. Maybe the aftershock will be of lesser magnitude than the main shock," Dr OP Mishra was quoted by ANI.
