New Delhi: Congress MLA and former Maharashtra minister Aslam Shaikh allegedly received death threats from a caller who identified himself as gangster Goldie Brar, Mumbai Police said as reported by news agency ANI. According to the report, the caller said he is going to shoot the Congress leader in two days. A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 506 (2) and 507 and a probe is underway, police said.
As per the report, Aslam Shaikh’s personal assistant and lawyer Vikram Kapoor, who also manages his calls, lodged the police complaint after the Congress leader received the alleged threat call on October 5.
According to the FIR, the caller identified himself as gangster Goldy Brar and asked for Shaikh. As per the FIR, he said, “Main Goldy Brar bol raha hu. Main Aslam Shaikh ko do din mein goli maarkar udaane wala hu. Ye Aslam Shaikh ko bata do (This is Goldy Brar. I am going to shoot Aslam Shaikh dead in the next two days. Inform Aslam about this).”
Kapoor immediately informed the police and provided the two phone numbers associated with the caller.
It is to be noted that Goldy Brar, also known as Satinderjeet Singh, is a fugitive Canadian gangster closely associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Brar has reportedly issued threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan earlier.

According to police, accused Bansilal said that due to Sharma's interference, he had to be evicted from his dairy in Parvatiya colony and suffered financial loss. So, he threatened to kill the Congress MLA and his mother.
"I received calls from an unknown mobile number twice on August 15 at 8:02 pm and then at 8:08 pm. The caller hurled abuses at me and also threatened to kill me and my mother," Sharma stated in his complaint, as reported by PTI.
