After Vikassheel Insaan Party chief and former Bihar minister Mukesh Sahani's father, Jitan Sahani, was found dead at his residence in Darbhanga on Tuesday, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) came down heavily on the Nitish Kumar-led state government and termed the incident 'maha jungle raj'.
RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and NDA and asked them to come out and speak on the incident.
"Former Bihar Minister Mukesh Sahani's father has been brutally murdered. This is extremely unfortunate... If the families of leaders are not safe in Bihar, it clearly means that the common man is at the mercy of god... Why are BJP and NDA leaders quiet on this? They should come out and speak up. This is 'maha-jungleraaj'," Tiwari said.
The death of 65-year-old Jitan Sahani was confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police, Jagunath Reddy. This incident was reported from the family's ancestral house located in Supaul market of Afzalla Panchayat in Biraul subdivision, Darbhanga where Jitan Sahani's mutilated body was found. Reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained and police probe is underway.
Speaking on the incident, BJP MP Giriraj Singh said, "The accused will not be spared. The State government is taking the matter seriously."
RJD Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav slammed the RJD government in the state and said that no day goes by without a murder and the CM Nitish Kumar is in unconscious state of mind.
"What is going on in Bihar? No day goes by without a murder... The Chief Minister is in an unconscious state of mind. He might not even know by now that something has happened in the state. No political leader is safe in Bihar... The system has collapsed. Bihar is at the mercy of gods," Yadav said.
