Two days ahead of the ceremony, on Monday, Mann posted a video on his official Twitter handle inviting people to the event. He said that it is not only him who is taking the oath, but three crore people of Punjab who will take oath along with him.
In the video, he also urged people to wear the Basanti (yellow) colour. He requested men to adorn a Basanti turban and women to adorn a Basanti dupatta.
Officials told PTI that fool-proof security arrangements were made for the event as several senior officials, including Inspector General and Senior Superintendent Police rank officers, have been deputed for the event.
They added that 8,000-10,000 security personnel have been deployed for the event.
Besides that, services of health staff of adjoining 10 districts and nearly 30 ambulances would be deployed to meet any health emergencies, Civil Surgeon Davinder Dhanda told PTI.
