The 5-year-old girl, who fell into a 25-foot-deep borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh, has been successfully rescued by the teams of NDRF and SDRF teams on the intervening night of Wednesday. According to officials, reported ANI, the girl was safely taken out of the borewell around 2.30 am, after about 8-9 hours into the operation. The incident occurred in Pipliya Rasoda village in Rajgarh where the girl fell into the borewell at around 5.30 pm on Tuesday.
After receiving the information, officials from the local administration, including Rajgarh collector Harsh Dikshit and newly appointed MLA Mohan Sharma reached the spot and a rescue operation was launched. Police said that the SDERF had reached the spot and arrangements were made to provide her oxygen inside the borewell shaft.
Speaking of the rescue operation, a police official said, "The borewell was in middle of a farm. NDRF and SDRF teams were involved in the rescue operation. The rescue operation continued for eight hours but the girl has been rescued."
Rajgarh SP Dharamraj Singh Meena lauded the efforts of Collector Harsh Dikshit, MLA Mohan Sharma, and the entire rescue team for the successful operation.
Earlier, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to his official X, formerly Twitter, account and said that he was in touch with the local administration.
"The teams of SDERF, NDRF and the district administration are trying to get the girl out safely. I am also in constant touch with the local administration. We will leave no stone unturned to bring the girl out safely," he said.
