Young Shooter To Contribute 60 Percent Of His Earning To PM Cares Fund For 3 Years

Shivam has been selected to represent India in the next Youth Asian Games slated to be held in UAE in the month of July and the upcoming World Youth Games to be held in Portugal towards the end of this year.

New Delhi: Shivam Thakur, a 19 year old pistol shooter wrote a letter to Prime Minister and conveyed that he will contribute 60 percent of his yearly earnings to PM Cares fund for the next 3 years. Shivam has been selected to represent India in the next Youth Asian Games slated to be held in UAE in the month of July and the upcoming World Youth Games to be held in Portugal towards the end of this year. The talented Indian shooter earns around 5 lakh rupees a year from his tournament appearance fees and different scholarship and funding programs .
The young shooter's parents live at Sitamari in Bihar and his father runs a shop in the village . Since last few years Shivam has been shifted to Greater Noida and trains at a local shooting range at Kuleshra .
In his letter to the Prime Minister Shivam has written, " this is high time for the young generation to come forward for the country and do their best to uplift the overall spirit of the nation".
Many established sportsmen of the country have contributed handsome amount of money for the covid relief fund but for a 19 year old shooter to contribute 60 percent of his earning for 3 years and whose yearly earning is merely 5 Lakhs a year is definitely something special .
Earlier Greater Noida based young golfer Arjun Bhati had decided to sell off his 102 trophies to collect more than 4 lakh rupees which he contributed to the PM Cares fund .
