New Delhi: Hard-hitting West Indies batter Deandra Dottin has suffered multiple fractures to her cheekbone following a fielding accident during the Women's Big Bash League match between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars at the Allan Border Field on Tuesday .
Birsabne Heat all-rounder Deandra Dottin was rushed to the hospital after collision with teammate Laura Harris. The incident took place in the 11th over of the Melbourne Stars innings when a Meg Lanning shot landed in between the two fielders in the deep mid-wicket region.
Dottin and Harris both went for the ball to stop it from reaching the boundary and collided with each other. Dottin’s head struck a kit-bag kept beside the boundary rope and left her in great discomfort.
She was stretchered off the field. Harris however, recovered from the collision.
