New Delhi: On a day when Indian Women's Cricket team scripted history by securing its maiden berth in the finals of the ICC Women's World Cup, the Harmanpreet Kaur team was poured into with congratulatory messages from all quarters and leading the way were Indian skipper Virat Kohli, former cricketers VVS Laxman and Indian women's cricket superstar Mithali Raj.

Mithali appeared in a television advertisement for a leading multi-national brand where she is seen donning a saree and playing cricket. While the video shows an aspect of Indian culture with Mithali attired in traditional Indian wear, the video plays out a telling message by hailing one of India's iconic female star's glittering achievements and breaking the traditional stereotype of the 'Gentleman's Game' being a male-oriented sport.

Towards the end of the video, there is a punchline were Mithali is wishing the Indian team all the best for the finals in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

"As an Indian, I am absolutely thrilled India has made it to the finals. But as a cricketer I feel for the English girls. I''d never want to find myself or my team in that situation. But the rules are such and it is what it is. Congratulations girls. This is big," tweeted Mithali, who leads the women''s team in the ODI format.
