Luis Suarez’s first half strike put the Catalian giants on the verge of famous victory but it was Lionel Messi unsuccessful free-kick attempt which grabbed the headlines.
The Argentine almost scored from 35 yard spot which could have been the best solo goal of his already glittering career.
It didn’t look possible to score from that spot but Messi fired it in right direction and pace. Atletico shot stopper Miguel Angel Moya held his nerves to deny Messi his best ever free-kick goal.
