Brisbane: England's flamboyant opener Tom Banton smashed a series of five sixes in one over during his thrilling 19-ball 56 for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL) against Sydney Thunder on Monday. Banton's fiery fifty is now the second best half-ton on the much-popular tournament.

The highly rated T20 cricketer was snapped up by the two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for his base price of Rs 1 crore in the recently held league auctions in Kolkata.

Earlier on Sunday, left-handed batsman Leo Carter emulated former India hard-hitting batsman Yuvraj Singh in the ongoing New Zealand's Super Smash T20 league.

Leo, who smashed 70 runs off 29 balls to propel his squad to victory, showcased incredible display of power by hitting left-arm spinner Anton Devcich for 6 sixes in the 16th over of the match between his team Canterbury Kings and Northern Knights.
