At the same time, former captain MS Dhoni won the 'ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade' while Afghanistan player Rashid Khan won the title of 'ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Decade'.

The ICC Awards of the Decade is a one-off edition of the annual awards programme, aimed at celebrating the stand-out performers and moments from the past ten years of international cricket.

These are first-of-its-kind award which honour a player's contribution to the game of cricket. The players, both men and women, have been nominated in various categories including ODI Player of the Decade, T20I Player of the Decade, among others.
