New Delhi: Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli has expressed condolences on the martyrdom of seven Indian Army army personnel who passed away in a road accident in Ladakh. Seven soldiers were killed and 19 others were injured when an army vehicle fell into the Shyok River in Ladakh's Turtuk sector on Friday.
Taking to his Twitter, Virat Kohli tweeted, "Devastated to hear about the loss of lives of our brave soldiers. My condolences to the bereaved families and praying for the speedy recovery of all those who are injured."
Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh wrote, "Deeply saddened to hear about the tragic road accident in Ladakh today. Heartfelt condolences to the families of our brave soldiers who lost their lives in the accident. The nation stands with you."
"Seven army personnel were killed and 19 injured, some of them critically, when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into the Shyok River in Ladakh's Shyok river on Friday," officials said. The accident took place in the morning in the Turtuk sector, in which the vehicle fell from a height of about 50-60 feet.
