New Delhi: Virat Kohli who is a teammate and friend of Chris Gayle sent out a heartwarming message to the West Indian cricketer on the birth of his newborn child.

“Congratulations @henrygayle & Natasha. Proud to be called 'Uncle Virat' by your angel Blush #GreatNews #Fatherhood,” Kohli tweeted on Thursday.

Gayle welcomed the arrival of his first daughter and took to social media to announce that he has named her ' blush'.

"We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter 'Blush' to this world 2 hours ago, Thank God #GoodHealth&Strength," Gayle posted on his Instagram account, along with a photo of his partner Natasha Berridge.

"The greatest gift and feelings anyone would want. Great experience witnesses every bit of it. Have to give my blessings to Tasha, strong woman. #Amen," he added.

The 36-year-old explosive batsman left his Indian Premier League club Royal Challengers Bangalore to fly back to the Carribean to be with his partner for the birth of his first child this week.

The disappointment to his fans, however, was that he didn’t post the picture of the child which was hugely expected.

But his newborn daughter ‘Blush’ has a reference to the controversy that shot up after he hit on sports reporter Mel McLaughlin during a live TV interview at the Big Bash League game in Hobart.
