Former India skipper Virat Kohli is not playing the ongoing India vs New Zealand T20 series. The stylish right-hander will return to action in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting from February 9 in Nagpur. During his break period, Virat Kohli arrived in Rishikesh, along with his wife Anushka Sharma. Several pictures and videos have gone viral on social media which show the star couple's visit to the Swami Dayanand Giri Ashram in Rishikesh.

Virat, one of the most popular and followed sports personalities across the globe, was surrounded by his fans who requested him or a few autographs. In a viral video, Kohli can be seen giving his autograph on a cricket ball.

As per the ANI report, Virat and Anushka will also participate in public religious rituals at the ashram and then organise a bhandara (religious feast).

Virat Kohli to return in Border-Gavaskar Trophy

This Test series between India and Australia is very important for both teams. The Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 consists of a four-match Test series, which will decide the top two teams in the World Test Championship.  If India beats Australia in the four-match Test series, they will qualify for WTC Finals regardless of the results from other series.

If India vs Australia Test series ends in a 2-2 draw, and Sri Lanka beat New Zealand 2-0, India won't be able to qualify for the top two. Hence, Sri Lanka and Australia could also be the World Test Championship finalists.
