Hurdles for India's number one female wrestler Vinesh Phogat don't seem to resolve any soon. Vinesh Phogat left the trials for the World Wrestling Championship midway. Vinesh Phogat's cousin Sangeeta, however, made a comeback in the 62kg category so as to secure her place in the Indian team.

Vinesh Phogat had to face suspension from the Wrestling Federation of India after the Tokyo Olympics. Vinesh's suspension, however, was withdrawn after giving a warning. But Vinesh Phogat did not seem to be in her usual form during the trial. Vinesh had defeated Anju by a score of 10-5 in the first match. After this, she did not take the mat against Pinky, due to which Pinky got a place in the team in the Championship to be held from October 2 to 10.

Vinesh said that her body is no longer in the same form. Vinesh said, "I don't know what has happened to me. I was not hurt but I was feeling dizzy. My body is not the same as before. I will be seeing a doctor. Perhaps the Corona infection has left an effect on the body.

Sakshi Malik also lost

Olympic bronze medalist Bajrang Punia's wife Sangeeta returned to the mat after two knee operations and registered a commendable victory. She defeated Junior World Championship silver medalist Sanju Devi on the basis of technical superiority and then beat Manisha by a score of 9-5. Bajrang was standing on the coach corner during the match.

Sangeeta could not play the 2018 World Championship due to her knee operation. In 2019, her left knee was also operated upon. Sangeeta said, "My father Mahavir Phogat taught me wrestling and now Bajrang continues to inspire and advice me"

In the same 62 kg category, Manisha defeated Rio Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik.
