New Delhi: One of the most famous scenes of Indian cricket’s modern history is Yuvraj Singh’s six 6s off England’s Stuart Broad at Kingsmead in Durban during the inaugural 2007 World T20.

It is also a common knowledge that Yuvraj had an argument with England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff just before that historical over. Yuvi was famously sledged by Flintoff and there was drama on-field as both exchanged heated words between them. And, Broad was simply unfortunate to have been bowling that over. Yuvi used that over to vent his anger and unleashed a brutal carnage.

But, what actually transpired between Yuvi and Flintoff was never revealed. In an interview with former Bollywood actress Simi Garewal for Star World, Yuvi recalled the incident and revealed the exact words used by the two cricketers.

Yuvi said Flintoff told him, “Those were ******* ridiculous shots, because I had hit him for two boundaries in that over. I said **** you. Then he said, excuse me. I said you heard what I said. And he said I will cut your throat off. I said you see this bat in my hand. You know where I gonna hit you with this bat?”

When asked whether the heated exchange of words charged him up, the flamboyant left-hander said, “It got me really worked up. I was really angry and I just wanted to hit every ball out of the ground, just give it back. Sometimes, it’s good for you. Sometimes, it backfires. But on that day I think it backfired them.”

Yuvraj is in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad and looking to make a comeback after recovering from an ankle injury which he picked during the World T20 a few weeks ago. The all-rounder from Punjab has said that he is targeting the May 6 IPL fixture against Gujarat Lions for his comeback.
