Notably, Vingegaard's total earnings from the race is actually worth €535,220 or 4.85 crore rupees when taking into account his exceptional performance throughout the challenging 21 stages of the prestigious cycling event. This achievement cements his position as one of the top riders in the race and adds to his remarkable journey as a competitive cyclist as he retained the Tour de France title having also won the race in 2022.
In the Tour de France, stage victories hold a substantial value of €11,000 (close to 10 lakh rupees) each and additional prize money is awarded to cyclists who secure a position within the top 20 finishers on any given day. Jonas Vingegaard, the 26-year-old champion from Team Jumbo-Visma, demonstrated his prowess by not only clinching one stage win but finished inside the top 20 racers on a dozen occasions.
Moreover, throughout the course of the Tour, Vingegaard spent an impressive 16 days leading the General Classification (GC), which earned him an additional €500 (over 45,000 Indian Rupees) in recognition of his exceptional performance. When combined with the substantial €500,000 prize awarded to the overall winner at the conclusion of the Tour, Vingegaard's total earnings further reflect his outstanding achievements on the challenging terrain and competitive stages of the prestigious cycling event.
