Adelaide: Australia skipper Tim Paine’s decision to declare their first innings at 589/3 against Pakistan in the second Test at Adelaide Oval on Saturday has not gone down well with many cricket fans all around the world. The Aussie star opener David Warner was batting unbeaten on 335 when skipper Paine, in a shocking move, declared the innings.

What made fans fume over Paine's decision to declare was that Warner could have broken former West Indies batsman Brian Lara's record of unbeaten 400 in a Test match, which he attained against England in Antigua.

A user wrote: "Tim Paine mate I really couldn't find a reasonable logic for you depriving fellow mate David David Warner getting 400, it is just 127 overs, 3 and half days to go, Australia already leads the series. If PAK gets 350, u would have to bat again, mate what would Australia miss without you."

Warner on Saturday scored his first-ever triple ton in Test cricket when he took the field at the Oval for the second Test against Pakistan. The 33-year-old broke Aussie legend Don Bradman's (299 runs) record of having the highest individual score at the Adelaide Oval.
