New Delhi [India], Nov 1 (ANI): As India is all set to demolish Sir Lanka in the third and concluding Test, opening batsman Murali Vijay believes the green wicket at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground will provide the team a good experience before the South Africa tour.

Talking about the wicket ahead of the Delhi Test, Vijay said in a press conference, "It is a nice wicket to play. It has grass that is the whole point. Hopefully, the wicket plays good and we get a good experience before the South Africa tour."

In the second Test against the Lankan Lions, India played with Murali Vijay and K L Rahul as openers, but with Shikhar Dhawan back in the squad, India are struck with an opening dilemma ahead of the match.

However, Vijay believes shuffling in the top squad definitely unsettles the player, but the rapport the players maintain off the field, makes it much easier for them to adjust with it.

"We are very good friends off the field so it makes it much easier. Definitely it will unsettle the opener who is playing regular. We three are in a good rapport off the field which is going to help us in the series coming ahead and in future as well."

After the batting debacle in the first innings of the first Test, Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul enjoyed a fruitful second innings with scores of 94 and 79 respectively.

Murali Vijay, who was kept out of playing XI in the first Test, but Dhawan's absence helped him find place in the team.

The Tamil Nadu cricketer hit a stunning 128 in the second Test, where India registered a wide-margin win over the Islanders.
