T20 World Cup 2022: BCCI on Monday announced Indian squad for the upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 that will take place in Australia from October 16 to November 13. BCCI selectors met in Mumbai on Monday to select India players for the marquee tournament. The last date to submit the squad for T20 World Cup is September 16. Team India will be captained by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will be the vice-captain in the multi-nation tournament. Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not been named in the main squad. Him and Deepak Chahar have been selected as reserve players.

Injured Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup, but the good thing is that the team's leading pacer Jasprit Bumrah and in-form talented young speedster Harshal Patel are back in the team to bloster India's under-fire pace attack. India's spin department consists of R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. Apart from Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan, BCCI has named the same squad for T20 World Cup which they picked for Asia Cup 2022. Defending champions India performed poorly in the Asia Cup and could not reach the final.

India squad for ICC T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R.
