T20 World Cup 2022 Prize Money: The International Council of Cricket announced prize money for Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Jos Buttler-led England, T20 WC 2022 title winners, are taking home a jaw-dropping $US 1.6 million (around Rs 12.88 crores), while runners-up Pakistan will be rewarded with half the amount i.e. around Rs 6.44 crores.
T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finalists, India and New Zealand are guaranteed $400,000 each (around 3.22 crores) from the $5.6 million total prize pool. Netherlands, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia -- the eight teams who were knocked out at the end of Super 12 stage will get $70,000 each (Rs 56.35 Lakhs).
Sam Curran creates history: England's 24-year-old pacer Sam Curran, who won player of the match award in T20 WC final, scripted history by becoming first-ever male bowler to be named Player of the Tournament award in World Cup history. Curran bagged 13 wickets across matches in the tournament.
