India in T20 World Cup: The Indian cricket team will kick-off its T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24. Senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who is making a comeback in India's T20 squad, after a gap of four years, on Sunday took to Instagram to share a heart-warming post with a picture of himself in team India's official jersey for T20 World Cup and his daughter in the background.
R Ashwin said his daughter told him that she had never seen him in team India's blue jersey before Sunday.
"When your daughter says 'I have never seen you in this jersey appa' can't leave her out of the picture. Can you ? @prithinarayanan". R Ashwin's wife Prithi too responded to her husband's post.
Last time Ravichandran Ashwin represented the national squad in white ball cricket was in the year 2017. However, he continued playing shortest format of the game by being part of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ashwin's overall performance in this year's IPL was not so good but despite this when he was named in India's 15-member squad for World Cup, everyone was surprised. Ahead of the start of World Cup, even Virat Kohli had said during the press conference that Ashwin's good performance in white ball cricket helped him make a comeback. The skipper also asserted that India has a lot of expectations from the experienced spin pair of Ashwin-Jadeja.
