Chennai Super Kings's batting Raina has returned back to India from the United Arab Emirates, the host nation for the thirteenth edition of the IPL.
In a statement released by the franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan, it read, “Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season.
Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time.” The latest development is a further blow to the Chennai Super Kings campaign, which is presently in disarray after one team player and 11 staff members were tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, the three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings received a major blow ahead of the much anticipated 2020 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
As per reports, 12 support staff members and one fast-bowler of the franchise have tested positive for the dreaded Coronavirus (Covid-19). The reports also claim that the Covid-19 positive fast-bowler is not a member of the Indian cricket team, but his name is yet to be revealed. Nicknamed 'Chinna Thala' by his CSK fans, Raina is also known as 'Mr. IPL' in the T20 league having established his credentials as one of the finest players in the tournament.
