Afghanistan spinner Mohammad Nabi registered a unique record of sorts on Thursday as he became the first bowler in the ongoing 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) to register a 5-wicket haul.

The St Lucia Zouks all-rounder returned with match winning figures of 5 for 15 in his 4-over spell to help his team secure a commanding win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Turning out for the Zouks in 2020 IPL, Nabi is having a decent tournament with both bat and ball, scoring 120 runs at a healthy average of 40 and scalping 9 wickets in the season to play an instrumental role in side's success this season.

Daren Sammy-led Zouks were in the dominant position from the very early stages of the contest, restricting the Patriots to a paltry score of 110/9; and then chasing down the target with relative ease in 15 overs to consolidate their position towards the top of the table.

Zouks are currently sitting at 2nd spot in the table. Pairing with another experienced all-rounder Roston Chase, the duo is playing the most crucial role for Darren Sammy's side in this year's campaign.

The 5-fer against Patriots also happened to be Nabi's fifth 4-wicket haul in five different franchise leagues. A globe trotter in the franchise based T20 format, the seasoned Afghan spinner has also achieved the 5-wicket milestone in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2016, Afghanistan Premier League (APL) in 2018, Big Bash League (BBL) in 2018, and Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2019.

Nabi also created a unique record of becoming the only second bowler after former Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir to take 4-wicket hauls in five different leagues.
