IND Vs SL: Ahead of the ODI series against India starting on July 18, Sri Lanka has suffered a major setback. Sri Lanka's star batsman Kusal Perera will not be a part of the series against India. Sri Lanka Cricket Board confirmed that Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the series against India due to injury.

Kusal Perera may take 6 weeks to recover from the injury. According to information received from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, "Kusal Perera is set to be ruled out of the series against India. He has a shoulder injury. The team did not elaborate on the injury. He has not been officially ruled out but the team doctor said he will have to stay out for six weeks.''

Kusal Perera showed excellent form in the recently played limited-overs series against England. Perera was also the captain of the Sri Lanka team that toured England. But due to a contract dispute between the players and the board, Kusal Perera has been removed from the captaincy. Dasun Shanaka has now been made the captain in place of Kusal Perera.

Ind vs SL ODI series to begin from July 18

The Sri Lankan team is not yet final for the limited-overs series against India. The India vs Sri Lanka ODI series will start from July 18 after Covid-19 cases were reported from Sri Lankan bio-bubble.

The Indian cricket team, however, reached Sri Lanka in early July for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is.
