Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis was arrested by the police on Sunday in what seems like a hit and run case as he knocked down a 64-old pedestrian while driving, and the man eventually succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Sunday. The Lankan wicket-keeper batsman's vehicle hit a 64-year-old man, killing him in the wee hours, in the Colombo suburb of Panadura, police said while issuing a statement. According to a report in ESPN , Mendis will have to appear before a magistrate in the next 48 hours while it is not known yet clear if he or the victim, were under the influence of alcohol. The 25-year-old has so far played 44 Tests and 76 ODIs for the national team. He has scored 2,995 runs in Tests at an average of 36.97, while 2,167 runs in ODIs at an average of 30.52.
