Maharashtra's BJP MLA from Pune, Siddharth Shirole on Sunday took to Twitter to post pictures of cars being parked on athletes' track at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex. Shirole said that by parking their cars on Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex sports track, Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi government has hurted the spirit of sportspersons of our nation.

Reacting to the accusation, sports department of Maharashtra have apologised and also clarified that only Sharad Pawar's vehicle was allowed to park near the track on the concrete road so that he doesn't have to walk.

"The sports minister has taken note of the incident and instructions have been issued to make sure that vehicles are not allowed at the athletic track," Sports Commissioner of Maharashtra told ANI.

Union minister of sports Kiren Rijiju too took to Twitter to express his displeasure over the incident and wrote, "I'm personally very sad to see such disrespect for sports and sporting ethics in our country."

"Don't get me wrong.. I love Cricket but imagine the uproar if SUV's drove and parked over the center pitch of an International Cricket ground..That is what the MVA Leadership did...disrespected & destroyed an International Athletic track and with it the morale of our athletes," Siddharth Shirole tweeted.

"Not only has the Athletic Track worth crores of rupees at Shiv Chaptrapati Sports Complex #Pune been damaged, but the spirit of Sportspersons who bring glory to our nation has been severely dented by the shameful & arrogant actions of #MVA leadership," the BJP MLA wrote.

"At a time when PM Modi is inspiring our sportsperson to bring glory for our country, the tall leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadhi government are doing such shameful acts. I demand immediate apology from them and an impartial inquiry into the entire incident," he said.
