New Delhi: Mridul da, a 50-plus old man from Bijoygarh in South Kolkata went out to have chai in a local shack on the day when Janta Curfew was announced. Two more men were there as well.
A local resident asked him , why are you here ? Mridul , who is a daily wage labourer said " Madam can't I have just one cup of chai "

That video went viral in Bengal and people started making Memes of Mridul da portraying him as a " Fool " along with the other two.

The meme went to former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly as well via whats app and facebook circulation .

On a telephonic conversation with a friend Sourav came to know that Mridul da is a daily wage labourer who made a mistake on the day of janta curfew by going to the local chai shack but is not a perpetual rule violator and people in his locality know him as an honest man.

The BCCI president asked his friend to find out the address of Mridul da . Finally through social media they found out where Mridul da lives and a token of help was sent to him. Sourav gave him food for the entire month and sent him a message through his friend so that Mridul doesn't leave his house .

Mridul has thanked the former India captain for his gesture .
