New Delhi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja confirmed their leading pacer Shaheen Afridi will be match fit ahead of their T20 World Cup 2022 opening match against India. During his exclusive conversation with Pakistan news publication The Dawn, Ramiz Raja said Shaheen has fully recovered ahead of the World Cup and is looking to play two warm-up matches to get back into shape before their match against India.

"I had a chat with Shaheen ... and he said he hasn't felt this good in ages. So, the progress is very good," PCB chairman Ramiz Raja told Dawn news.
"He said he'd be battle-ready soon, it's great news for us."
Star speedster Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 after he suffered a knee injury during the Sri Lanka series. He traveled to UAE for Asia Cup with the Pakistan cricket team but later left for England for his rehab.

"A knee injury is quite technical and a delicate issue," Raja told Dawn. "We were of the view that we won't take the risk until he was 110% fit," he further added.
Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team is currently facing the heat for their poor batting approach throughout Asia Cup 2022. They ended the tournament as runners-up with Sri Lanka lifting the trophy.
