Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo's debut in Saudi Arabia was a memorable affair, but he failed to repeat that performance in his Saudi Super Cup debut for Al-Nassr on Thursday. In the Saudi Super Cup semi-final between Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, Ronaldo failed to impress as he couldn't find the back of the net and his side Al-Nassr was beaten 1-3 by Al-Ittihad. By the virtue of this win, Al-Ittihad made it to the finals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, a video is doing rounds on social media in which some Al-Ittihad fans can be heard taunting five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo with Lionel Messi chants during Al-Nassr's Saudi Super Cup game on Thursday.

Ronaldo is yet to score his first goal for Al-Nassr and he might attain it next Friday when his team Al-Nassr clashes against Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.

"One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano Ronaldo's missed opportunity in the first half," French manager Rudi Garcia was quoted as saying by GOAL.com.

Messi and Ronaldo, two of the greatest footballers of all time, have won everything there is to be won and while neither had lifted a FIFA World Cup trophy, Messi led Argentina to a World Cup triumph in Qatar which his fans believe have given him the bragging rights over Ronaldo.

Ronaldo scripted history by signing a jaw-dropping $200 million-per-year deal with Saudi club Al-Nassr after his contract with Manchester United was terminated following a bombshell interview with British journalist Piers Morgan. The contract made him world's highest-paid footballer.
