Jason Holder-led West Indies scripted history of sorts as they became the first team to secure a Test victory in the Covid-19 era with a notable win over hosts England in the first of the 3-Test series played at the Ageas Oval in Southampton. West Indies beat the hosts by four wickets to take a much-needed 1-0 lead in the Wisden Trophy Test series.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday congratulated West Indies cricket team for their noteworthy win against a much more fancied England team in the opener of the three-match Test series at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

Following the win, Kohli took to Twitter to congratulate the Jason Holder-led side as he wrote, "Wow @windiescricket what a win. Top display of test cricket."


Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar hailed the all-rounder efforts of the Windies and made a special note of Jermaine Blackwood's knock played under tense circumstances


West Indies cricket legend Sir Vivian Richards also complimented Jason Holder and his team for achieving one of their best ever wins in the longer format of the game.


Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag lauded the Windies for securing an impressive win on overseas soil against the English in their backyard. Sehwag also underlined the importance of Test cricket and expressed his happiness over resumption of cricket in the Covid-19 era.
