New Delhi: Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma on Friday had a fan moment when he received a customized World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) championship belt from WWE star Triple-H, for lifting the Indian Premier League title for a record third time with a win over Rising Pune Supergiant in the final of the 10th edition.

Paul Michael Levesque, also known to the WWE fans as Triple H and the Game, had sent congratulatory tweets to the team after their win on May 21, saying that something special was headed their way.

The suspense was finally broken on 13 July as Triple H took to twitter to reveal the customised championship belt with the logo of MI team on the side plates

Sharma on Friday took to Twitter and Instagram to express his ecstasy by sharing his picture holding the belt and replying to the 14-time WWE champion, "This is unreal, to be holding this championship belt from the champion himself. Lot of fond memories. Thank you TripleH & WWE"

By winning the 2017 IPL title, the 30-year-old right-handed batsman became the most successful player by winning the league four times - once with Deccan Chargers in 2009 and thrice with MI in 2013, 2015 and 2017, and also the first captain to lift the title three times.

Coincidently, the day MI won the title was the very same day that Indian-origin wrestler Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship by beating Randy Orton.
