Team India's limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who turned 33 on Thursday, celebrated an unusual birthday locked up at his Mumbai residence. Wishes poured in for the hard-hitting opener from every corner of the world. Rohit took time out to respond to some of his teammates and well-wishers on Twitter on Friday.

Team India's skipper Virat Kohli, like many other cricketers, took to social media to wish his deputy Rohit Sharma on his 33rd birthday on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli currently rule the cricketing world and the duo have been India's batting mainstay in white-ball cricket.

"Happy B'day Rohit @ImRo45. God bless you with good health and happiness and many more elegant innings. Stay safe stay healthy," Virat Kohli wrote on Twitter.

Rohit's reply read: "Thanks a lot bro. Looking forward to many more elegant partnerships too."

Along with his best wishes, batsman K.L. Rahul sent a request asking Rohit to continue to make batting look easy. The vice-captain's reply read: "You are doing that right now. Thanks for the wishes."

Rohit also thanked cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar for his wishes.

Rohit also thanked wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and wished him a great year ahead.

While acknowledging Shubhman Gill's birthday wish, Rohit referred to youngster Gill as future of Indian cricket.

Rohit celebrated his birthday on Thursday but it was a day of mourning as veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away a day after Irrfan Khan also breathed his last.

Indian football legend Subimal 'Chuni' Goswami, who led Bengal in Ranji Trophy cricket too, also died later in the evening on Thursday to add to the gloom amid already testing COVID-19 times.
