Ab De Villiers heroic fifty went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6-wickets in the last-over thriller on Friday at the Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to hand over a knockout punch to the 'Red Army' and enter Qualifier 2. On Sunday, Hyderabad will now face Delhi Capitals and the team that wins that match will lock horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians in the Finals of IPL 2020. Jason Holder starred with both bat and ball as after picking three wickets in the first innings, he played a crucial 20-ball 24 run knock to power his team to victory. Apart from him, veteran Kane Williamson too starred with the bat by scoring a 44-ball 50. Chasing 132 for the win, Hyderabad skipper David Warner came out to open the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad with his new batting partner Shreevats Goswami. For Bangalore, Mohammad Siraj started the proceedings for Royal Challengers Bangalore with the new ball. Siraj got the early breakthrough for his team by getting Shreevats Goswami's (0) outside edge off a well-placed fuller delivery in his very first over. RCB speedsters Siraj and Saini were getting some good bounce and movement from the track with the new ball as they had managed to keep Warner and Manish Pandey quite in the first three overs. With a couple of blistering boundaries, the duo had managed to pull themselves back into the game. RCB now desperately needed a wicket and it was none another than Siraj who delivered once again. Virat Kohli got the review spot on, Warner (17) was given not out but the replays confirmed that the ball hit his gloves on the way to the keeper. At the end of the powerplay, Hyderabad were in a good position even after losing their openers. Experienced Kane Williamson joined Pandey in the middle to steady SRH's ship but the introduction of spin into the attack worked for skipper Kohli. Adam Zampa picked the prized wicket of Manish Pandey, with AB de Villiers taking a sharp catch behind the stumps, yet again. Just few overs later, young talent Priyam Garg smashed the ball straight to sweeper cover to give RCB their fourth wicket. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to field first in the do-or-die clash today. Windies star all-rounder Jason Holder picked crucial three wickets to restrict RCB to paltry 131/7 in the do-or-die clash on Friday. Royal Challengers Bangalore were jolted early and heavily by Holder who cleaned up both in-form RCB openers Virat Kohli (6) and Devdutt Padikkal (1) early on. SRH never allowed Bangalore to pull themselves back into the match as after loosing Virat and Padikkal, RCB lost Finch for 32 and few deliveries later veteran Moeen Ali threw away his wicket by getting run-out on a free hit. Later, Holder dismissed Dube for 8 to pick his third wicket of the match. AB de Villiers, like he has done most of the times, played an important innings for his squad and was also the highest run-scorer for RCB (43-ball 56).
