New Delhi: Mumbai's team has been announced for the Ranji Trophy 2021-22. Arjun Tendulkar, son of former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, has been named in the Mumbai Ranji team. Young India batter Prithvi Shaw has been named as the captain of this team.

The senior selection committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), led by former India pacer Salil Ankola, has selected a 20-man squad for the first two Ranji Trophy matches against Maharashtra and Delhi to be played in Kolkata from January 13.


Opener Prithvi Shaw will lead the Mumbai cricket team in the first two matches of the Ranji Trophy.  Mumbai are the 41-time Ranji champions and have been placed in the nine-team elite Group C this time.


"Prithvi is a brilliant captain and fantabulous opening batsman, what else you need," Mumbai chief selector Salil Ankola told PTI.


Mumbai will play its first match against Maharashtra from January 13. After this, they will face Delhi from January 20 in Kolkata.


Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, Armaan Jaffer, Drew Gomel and veteran wicket-keeper batsman Aditya Tare have been included in the 20-man squad. Fast bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar has also been included in the team.
