Ranji Trophy 2021-22 Final Madhya Pradesh vs Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh created history at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru by winning the Ranji Trophy final for the first time ever. Madhya Pradesh defeated 41-time winners Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final match of Ranji Trophy. On the last day, Mumbai had set a target of 108 runs for MP, which the team achieved in 29.5 overs. For MP, Yash Dubey, Shubham Sharma and Rajat Patidar emerged as star performers as they gave their team a good lead in the first innings. Madhya Pradesh, playing Ranji Trophy since 1954-55, ended a drought of 67 years by clinching their maiden title.




In the final match, Mumbai scored 374 runs after batting first. In reply, Madhya Pradesh scored 536 runs on the back of centuries from Rajat Patidar (122), Yash Dubey (133) and Shubham Sharma (116) as the team took a big lead of 162 runs. After this, in the second innings, Mumbai were reduced to 269 runs. In this way Madhya Pradesh got the target of 108 runs, which they achieved by losing four wickets.

 

Rajat Patidar, who scored a century in the first innings for Madhya Pradesh, did wonders in the second innings as well. He played a match winning innings of 29 runs in the second innings. During this, he hit four fours. Apart from  Patidar, Himanshu Mantri scored 37 and Shubham Sharma scored 30 runs in the second innings.
