Mumbai Police have arrested Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra in connection with 'porn videos racket'. Police, around 11 PM on Monday night, arrested Raj Kundra for allegedly making and publishing pornographic content through mobile applications. The businessman will appear in court today.

The action against the British-Indian businessman was based on a case registered by the police in February this year, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale told media in a late night statement.

"A case was registered with the Crime Branch about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We've arrested Raj Kundra in this case as he appears to be the key conspirator," said Nagrale.

"We have sufficient evidence regarding this. Further investigation is in progress," he added. So far, 10 accused have been arrested in the case, including Kundra.

IPL betting scandal: When Rajasthan Royals' owner Raj Kundra admitted to indulging in betting

The IPL spot fixing controversy brought down the credibility of the tournament massively. In the year 2013, S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandela and Ankit Chavan were arrested for match fixing by the Delhi police.

The controversy also highlighted the involvement of CSK owner Gurunath Meiyappan and RR owner Raj Kundra. As a result, both the teams were suspended from IPL for two seasons, making way for Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants.

During Delhi Police's investigation into the IPL spot-fixing scandal, Raj Kundra had admitted to betting through bokkie and his business partner-friend Umesh Goenka, but not fixing. After this his team Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years, while in 2015 Raj Kundra was banned from IPL for life.
