Manchester City footballer and the all-time top scorer of the club is set to hang his boots this summer. Sergio Aguero or Kun Aguero has been a club legend for Man City. He has been there at the club for 10 years. He is the most-respected played to wear that light blue jersey of City. Aguero made his City debut in 2011 when he scored twice in a 4-0 home win against Swansea city. The most memorable moment of his city career is the dramatic goal he scored against Queen Park Rangers in the same season to win the game and take the Premier League title for the first time.
Sergio Aguero became Manchester City’s top goal scorer in 2017, overtaking the 78-year old record which was held by Eric Brooks. He helped City win three Premier Leagues, one FA Cup and five League Cups.
Aguero posted this message on Twitter:
City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated. His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football. This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead.” He also revealed that Aguero will have a statue instated outside the Etihad stadium. He said, “In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium alongside the ones under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to bid Sergio a fitting farewell at the end of the season.”
Now the question remains which club will Aguero join? There are a lot of teams in fray, but Chelsea seems to be in the driving seat as of now. We will have to wait and watch to find out.
