Novak Djokovic gave another evidence of why he is rated among the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in Tennis history when he clinched a record-levelling 22nd Grand Slam title at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Sunday. He beat his Greek opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets at the Men's Singles Final to clinch his record 10th Australia Open title.
While everyone has been going gaga over his class and sheer will to be on top of the game over a prolonged career despite injuries, former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt made a hilarious remark.
He said that the Serbian Tennis ace is fortunate enough to be playing competitive tennis at the age of 35. Butt further said had Novak been a cricket player in Pakistan, he wouldn't have got a chance to play since he is over the age of 30.

"Shukr hai wo tennis khel skta hai. Pakistan mein hota to 30 saal se upar cricket nahi khel skta tha" which loosely translates to "Good that he plays tennis. If he was in Pakistan he wouldn't have been able to play cricket after turning 30."
The former Pakistan captain made this remark in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.
"He wouldn't have been able to play even after scoring three hundreds," the anchor alongside Butt says in the video.
"That was our old setup. Don't know what kind of people were they. Would themselves continue to play even after being 45 or 50 but to others, they would say you can't play as you are over 30," Butt responded.
Meanwhile, as a result of his Grand Slam win, Djokovic has gone back to the number 1 position of the ATP Rankings. Djokovic had come back from behind to beat Tsitsipas in the French Open final in 2021 but on this occasion, he did not allow his opponent to win a single set despite the Greek being on set point in the second set. Djokovic eventually emerged victorious 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5).
