One of the best bowlers to ever step foot inside a cricketing field, former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram's son Tahmoor Akram has become a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Wasim Akram confirmed that his son Tahmoor is an amateur MMA athlete and is pursuing his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter.

"My son has been living in America, there is not much cricket there, anyway, I have given my children the right to live the life they want. If he wants to be a fighter, then he must," Akram told Cricket Pakistan.

Wasim Akram, regarded as one of the best bowlers of all time, was born in 1966 in Lahore. The veteran is known for his impeccable skill of getting the new ball to swing both ways and reverse swing with the old ball. Akram's international cricket career spanned almost two decades. Popularly known as the 'Sultan of swing', the speedster is a role model for many fast bowlers.

He has taken 916 wickets for Pakistan in international cricket - maximum wickets by a bowler for Pakistan across formats.
