It is not an easy job being a world-class athlete. It takes a lot of discipline, training, sacrifices to be at the top of one's skill and perform under pressure. And yet in certain sports there are chances of career-threatening injuries and even issues like cutting down of weight in combat sports like the one faced by Vinesh Phogat who was found 100 grams overweight, enough to shatter her and India's drams of an Olympic medal.

Fair to say a lot of what athletes are able to perform on the field is because of the support given to them by physiotherapists and doctors. But who is the doctor who is India's chief medical officer at the Paris Olympics 2024 and almost oversaw the star grappler cut down weight in time to try and get that Olympic medal only to fall a 100 grams short? Notably, it is the reputed sports surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala who has travelled with the Indian contingent as the medical officer to the French capital.
