New Delhi: Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya has brought glory to the country by winning a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him after this achievement. Ravi Dahiya won a silver medal as he lost the Final of 57 kg freestyle category 7-4 against the Russian Olympic Committee's Zaur Uguev in Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. 


Praising Ravi Dahiya, PM Modi said, "Ravi Kumar Dahiya is a wonderful wrestler. His wrestling spirit and penance is excellent. Congratulations to him for winning a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics. India is very proud of his achievements.''






Dahiya also received congratulatory messages from all over India. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said, "Heartiest congratulations to wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya on winning a silver medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics. India is proud of you. Best wishes for the future.''


Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has made a big announcement after being happy with Ravi Dahiya's victory at the Tokyo Olympics. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a reward of Rs 4 crore to Ravi Dahiya. The chief minister also announced the construction of an indoor stadium at Nahad village in Sonipat in Ravi Dahiya.


It is worth noting that Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya played in wrestling in the 57kg weight class. He could not win the gold medal and missed out on making history. He was defeated by Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) wrestler Zavur Yugave in the final.


Ravi Dahiya is the second Indian wrestler to reach the final of the Olympic wrestling event. Sushil Kumar had earlier reached the final in 2012.
