Tokyo: The eyes of the whole of India are on Neeraj Chopra on Day 15 of the ongoing Olympic Games. Neeraj Chopra is all set to play the final match of Javelin Throw. Chopra has a chance to become the first athlete for India to win a medal at the Olympic Games. The hype is real as Chopra had surpassed Germany's Johannes Vetter, the world no. 1 in the previous round. 


Neeraj boosted India's medal hopes by qualifying for the final with a throw of 86.65m in the first attempt of the qualification round itself.

The way Neeraj performed in the qualification and finished first in Group A, the chances of him fetching gold have increased. The 23-year-old Neeraj achieved an automatic qualifying mark of 83.50m with a throw of 86.65m in his first attempt of the Group A qualification round at the Olympic Stadium and emerged as a medal contender for the final.


Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem has also qualified for the final and will be seen alongside Neeraj in the final






India has, so far, won a total of five medals, including two silver and three bronze, in the Tokyo Olympics but is yet to win gold. Neeraj Chopra could bring home the gold this time. The hopes are high from the athlete as he holds the national record in Javelin Throw with 88.07 m. He is considered India's best athlete to have played Javelin Throw.
