Swapnil Kusale, the shooter who bagged India a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, received a special and a special welcome in his hometown of Kolhapur. Notably, in a rare sight Kusale was made to sit on an elephant and a procession was carried out, the video of which has gone viral on social media.


It is being learnt that a special arrangement was made for this grand welcome for the Olympic medal winner by the Kolhapur administration. The procession started from the Tararani Chowk in Kolhapur. During the event, Swapnil was seen sitting with folded hands and expressing his gratitude for all his fans.

Swapnil Kusale Wins India's First Medal In 50 Metre Rifle Three Positions Shooting Event


Swanil Kusale bagged India's first medal in the 50 Metre Rifle Three Positions Shooting Event in Olympic history in the French capital. Swapnil registered 451.4 points to win the bronze medal while the silver medallist in the event had 461.3 points. The gold medallist in the 50 Metre Rifle Three Positions Shooting Event finished accumulated 463.6 points. 


Swapnil Kusale earned a promotion by the Central Railways after his heroics in Paris Olympics. He is now an 'Officer On Special Duty' (OSD), Sports Cell in Mumbai after being one of the five bronze medallists in the French Capital, three of which came in shooting. The only silver medal to India's medal tally was added by Neeraj Chopra in the Men's Javelin Throw event.
